Another successful weekend for ART Grand Prix

The Karting Division of ART Grand Prix experienced another really rewarding weekend. Some great results came from various countries including France, England and Finland, confirming the high performance put on-track by the ART Grand Prix chassis on different types of circuits and with different conditions.

In the second round of the British championship, held on the Whilton Mill racetrack, Ben Barnicoat (KF2) won both the weekend’s races. In Race 1, Barnicoat provid_claneked the team with a sensational comeback after an ill-fated heat had forced him to take-off from the 9th spot. Race 1 was less exciting as Ben dominated to confirm his superiority at home: the Racing Steps Foundation driver has been the man to beat during the whole weekend and also clocked the fastest laptimes of the both races.

After the latest round of the WSK Euro Series, Charles Leclerc was back running in France at the Angerville track as he entered the second round of the French GPO championship. Fielded in the KF2 class by ART Grand Prix France, Leclerc cruised to a double win on Saturday and Sunday after having ended up qualifying in second place. After the two rounds held so far, Leclerc is now heading the points charts with 389 points. In the KZ2 class, ART Grand Prix fielded Julien Poncelet. At his first race with the ART Grand Prix chassis, the Frenchman ended up qualifying in third and cruised to a really valuable third place finish on Sunday.

The weekend proved highly-rewarding for ART Grand Prix Finland too. The team, directed by Jukka Peltola and Kimmo Vainio, went on-track at Pori for the first round of the Finnish Championship. In the KF2 class, Niclas Nylund won in both the weekend’s races and confirmed his fantastic state of shape, while the podium was rounded out by two third place finishes captured by Joni Ruuskanen. In the KF3 class, the manufacturer-supported Finnish team dominated Race 2 with Juho Siekkinen after Simo Laaksonen had cruised to third place in Race 1 ,in front of team-mates Siekkinen and Toumas Haapalainen, who rounded out a great team effort in sixth.
